This isn't so much a destination, just something that I think would be cool to experience. Getting into a metal cage with scuba gear and going in the water with great white sharks. I watch Shark Week and ever since than I have wanted to try it out. I think it would be a surreal experience getting to see this huge beasts in a more controlled way. This is one of the things on my bucket list and I hope I have the opportunity to do it one day.
Located off the east coast of Central America sits the beautiful island of Belize. Rich culture and expansive marine life cover every corner of the 180 mile island making it quite impossible to not be pulled in. A fun fact about this island is that it's said to be the home place of chewing gum. Aside from the awesome fact about gum, Belize makes it onto my top ten places to visit before I die, because there is so much to do and it's such a pretty place. I've researched lots of places on the island and the few that have stuck out to me would have to be visiting different archeological sites, such as the Lamanai. This is part of a city from the Mesoamerican time. Another thing I would like to try would be snorkeling in the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. This area is split into four zones to help a swimmer know what they will most likely see and what to expect for waves and such. Zone A is more for the beginner snorkeler - a person may see groupers and even barracudas. Zone B is more foliage, but you may see a sting ray or two here. Zone C is mostly just plants, but it's still a sight to see, as I'm told. Zone D is the newest addition to the tour, but is definitely the most interactive, considering that you can see both nurse sharks and sting rays in this area. This entire island is known for it's archeological sites, kayaking spots, and snorkeling areas so I know that if I ventured here someday, I'd be busy the whole time. The Caribbean are a destination that I have always wanted to go to. Today, I'm going to talk about Atlantis in the Caribbean. Located on Paradise Island, is the Atlantis Resort. It has a water slide, a dolphin cove, and opportunities to swim with different species of marine life. I have always wanted to visit this - especially since I have seen the commercials for this place. I have tried to convince my family several times to go here. I feel like it'd be a really cool experience because I'd get to see sharks, dolphins, and manta rays in a controlled environment. Next time, I will talk about different Islands I hope to visit in the Caribbean! I'd have to say that the place I'd choose to go to for my dream vacation would be Greece. I watched Mamma Mia when I was younger and it has stuck with me ever since. It's calming and serene and exactly what I want in a vacation. I would want to tour the cities and then just lay on the beach. So many of my favorite movies have taken place in Greece and I've just completely fallen in love with the country.
